Student Services
GRADUATE EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE
Career Point College encourages all graduates to use our employment assistance services. Career Point College also provides assistance to previously placed students who have lost their jobs as well as to those graduates who wish to change their current positions.
Before actual interviews, the Placement Coordinator will schedule a mock interview with the student and then together they evaluate the results. Once the results are satisfactory, the Placement Coordinator will help the student schedule actual interviews. Following the interview(s), the Placement Coordinator and the student may discuss the interview results. Career Point College is very proud of its employment successes, but does not guarantee employment to any student.
GRADUATION
Graduates from Career Point College must pass all subjects required by their program and must achieve at least a “C” (2.0) overall average. Honor Graduates receive a personalized Membership Certificate, Congratulatory Letter, and a Gold Medal of Distinction.

Career Point College is a charter member of the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society.
Alpha Beta Kappa is a National Honor Society formed in 1977 to recognize outstanding graduates of business career colleges, schools and colleges. Qualifications for membership include excellence in classroom work, leadership and service in class and school activities, personal integrity and good moral character.
Student candidates generally have a “3.8” average, or higher, upon graduation, as well as excellent attendance.
HOUSING
School personnel may be able to assist out of town and foreign students in obtaining suitable accommodations, but the school does not maintain dormitory or resident facilities.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Student clubs are responsible for the planning, preparation and oversight of many student functions such as graduation parties, holiday celebrations, etc. Members also coordinate food and clothing drives for local charities and families. One staff or faculty member sponsors the clubs and the individual organizations elect three officers from the student body.
Career Point College is a charter member of Collegiate Secretaries International, the student chapter of Professional Secretaries International. This club elects officers, meets frequently and often invites a representative from the business community to be a guest speaker during the students’ lunch break. All students are invited to attend.
TUTORING
Career Point College does not get involved with any paid tutoring on behalf of the student. Career Point College provides tutoring “at no charge” for all students enrolled in a program. Tutoring is accomplished in the following ways:
- The teachers stay an extra hour after morning classes (8:50 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) and are available for tutoring during that time.
- Students with a night schedule (5:30 p.m. – 10:20 p.m.) can come in an hour early and receive tutoring.
- Students in our AAS Degree program can meet with their individual instructors during their office hours.
- Student volunteers are connected with different clubs on campus and provide tutoring on an individual and group basis.
For reimbursement through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the student must provide a paid invoice or receipt for tutoring from an outside agency. The invoice or receipt must be provided to the V A Department located on campus, and will be submitted for reimbursement for the student.
All outside tutoring must be pre-approved by the instructor teaching the course in order to submit an invoice or receipt for reimbursement through the VA Department.
